Shine Your Light: Leo Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse Insights and Ritual

Be Brave and Bold this Leo Full Moon

Tomorrow's Full Moon is in fiery, dominating Leo and it will be coinciding with a Lunar Eclipse exact at 11:33am (Sydney, Australia time) on Saturday February 11.

Being the second full moon of the year, many of us have our intentions for the year still clear in our mind.  Take advantage of this momentum and motivation and tap into the mojo of this month’s full moon.

Leo invites us to step into our power and own our destiny.  Don’t be afraid to stand tall and roar out what it is your heart really wants.  Do some heart centred soul searching over the next couple of days.  What is holding you back from being the king or queen of your own jungle?  What self limiting beliefs or doubts are sitting in the back of your mind stopping you from following your heart and pursuing your dreams?

Or perhaps you’ve already conquered your inner demons and are standing proud, mane shining and bold, able to acknowledge how far you’ve come.  Take some time to celebrate where you have allowed your light to shine, where you have pursued your interests and goals, and where you have stood up for yourself and been strong.

Leo relates to fame, glory, performance.  It favours creativity, outward expression, power, passion and finding courage to move forward actualising your creative expression.

Eclipses occur with either a new moon (solar eclipse) or a full moon (lunar eclipse) and provide EXTRA opportunity for change and transformation as the cosmic bodies align creating ‘energy gateways’.  They are a wonderful time to set clear intentions to change our lives.

Tomorrow's lunar eclipse is caused by the earth's alignment between the sun and the full moon, causing the earth’s shadow to block the light from the moon’s surface.  This puts earth directly between the moon and sun creating an intense pull of energy, which can be very powerful if applied to your intentions, add this to the existing energy of the full moon and you have some extra mojo to work with.

The moon represents going inwards, intuition, emotional and personal issues, meaning a lunar eclipse offers an opportunity to work for changes in your personal life.

Eclipses almost always occur in threes, so it is usually a full month of shifting, changing and stirring up emotions.  During these eclipse seasons it can be particularly beneficial to meditate regularly as this helps facilitate shifts and allows you to gain as many insights as you can about what actions need to be taken to move your life forwards.

Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Ritual

Set aside some time during the eclipse (or as close to it as you can). While the eclipse won't be visible here in Australia, it will still be relevant and powerful.  If you're in the Northern Hemisphere it's perfect weather for a bath, but in Australia you might want to make up a cool foot bath instead to cool yourself.

Vapourise stimulating oils to fire up your solar plexus.  Oils such as lemon, cinnamon, sweet orange, ginger, frankincense and cedar wood are motivating.  Add a drop or two of these oils into your bath or foot bath and a tablespoon or two of sea salt.  Consciously wash away obstacles, negative energy, self limiting beliefs or anything else you want to release.  Visualise the water as silver or white and see it purifying your body, intentions and energy field.

After your bathing ritual light a candle or some incense and do some journalling, meditate or get creative.  Perhaps get out a colouring book and pencils and do some mindful colouring in.  Don't forget to pop your crystals outside for a moon bath too.  I'll be crystal infusing new batches of Rose Radiance Facial Nectar, Rose Radiance Face MistSacred Space Meditation Mist and making up some other Full Moon crystal elixirs for new exciting products too.

Finally, this is one of my favourite quotes and feels very appropriate for the energy of Leo the Lion.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? ...Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you... as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same...” - Marianne Williamson

Much love, Alison
